Paris2Tokyo is a podcast network with a dedicated show for
each of the world’s most visited countries — one destination, one host, a new episode every day.

The idea

Most travel advice is either a 900-page guidebook you will never finish, or a forum thread from 2017 arguing about which airport bus is cheapest. Neither is much use on the walk from your hotel to dinner.

So we built the opposite: short, specific, spoken briefings, organised the way people actually think about going somewhere — by country. Each country gets its own show, its own host, and its own feed. If you are going to Portugal, you subscribe to the Portugal show. You are not wading through episodes about Peru to find it.

One host, one country, one long conversation

Every show has a single recurring host rather than a rotating cast. That matters more than it sounds: a consistent voice builds context across episodes, so by episode ten your host can refer back to the neighbourhood you already know and it means something.

Hosts do not hop around at random either. Each one works through their country the way a resident would over a couple of years — settling in one area, learning it properly, then moving somewhere that actually connects to it. Seasons change. Festivals arrive. Places get revisited months later and feel different. It is meant to be followed, not dipped into.

Specific, not generic

Episodes are built around real questions — which area to base yourself in, what a week genuinely costs, when the crowds arrive, how the transport actually works, what will quietly mark you out as a tourist. And not only the famous places: the quiet valley two hours from the capital, the market that only runs on Thursdays, the history nobody puts on a postcard.

A country file on every show

Alongside the audio, every show page carries a full country reference — geography, climate, people, languages, history, economy, transport and connectivity — so you can check the hard facts in the same place you listen.

Who is behind it

Paris2Tokyo was founded, and is run, by Ibnul Jaif Farabi — a solo founder. Every show, every country file, and the platform it all runs on comes out of that one desk.

That has an upside and a trade-off worth being open about. The upside is that there is no committee: if something is wrong it gets fixed the same week, and there is exactly one person to hold responsible. The trade-off is that a hundred countries is a great deal of ground for one person, which is why corrections from listeners genuinely matter. If you know a place better than we do — and for your own country you almost certainly do — tell us.
